Relationships are key to the board functioning. We work with individual board members, small groups, or the whole board to offer relationship development, guidance and processes that foster healthy communication and trust among board members and with the CEO.
Policy development is a key function of the board. We assist board with developing good practices in creating policy, enacting and monitoring policies. We also assist with data tools and dashboards aligned to policy. We can assist with the regular review of policies and the engagement process, revision and publishing of policy documents for transparency and accountability.
Sometimes boards get stuck. We are here to help you get unstuck with mediation and negotiation services that are interest based grounded in trusting relationships and focused on shared values and goals.
For organizations to work and to work well, the CEO and the Board Chair must have a strong partnership based in mutual respect and accountability. That relationship has to be developed and nurtured overtime. When the difficult times come, and they will, a coach can be a good strategy to keep things on track. When things go south quickly and the relationship is headed in the wrong direction, that threatens continuity of mission and should be quickly made right again. That will mean both parties working together and in good faith. We work with the board chair and CEO to get back on track and re-establish their shared interests and when that is no longer possible, we help the transition so everyone leaves with their best foot forward and their dignity in tact.
We provide on-going support to boards and help them through managing the board policies, membership, and functions. This long-term relationship service is established to help new and older boards who want to become high functioning and continuously improve.
